Golf on Tour

Top two showdown

What better way to finish a PGA Tour event than a shoot-out between the world’s top two players?

Dustin Johnson, World No. 1, needed to nail a winding 43-foot putt over a ridge on the final hole to force a playoff… And he did. The putt lasted an incredible 10 seconds.

World No. 2 Jon Rahm must’ve felt sick heading out for the first playoff hole. If he did, he hid it well. The Spaniard made DJ’s miracle putt look mediocre as he sunk one from 66-feet for victory. That’s what I call pinch-yourself golf!

Competition news

Who came out on top?

On Sunday golfers contested for the Woodhouse Bowl (hanidcap medal) and Stockwell Salver (scratch medal) with Ryan Herriot's nett 65 taking the former and Tony Coles claiming the latter after his gross 71. 
Congratulations to you both!

There was also success on the day to Jeff Davies who - with a 7 iron in hand - managed a hole-in-one on our 4th hole, securing him the £300 pot too. Well done Jeff!

CJ's Eclectic

Over 100 members for all parts of the Club took part in the delayed CJ's Eclectic Final on the last Bank Holiday of the Summer - a team event with best 2 scores to count.

May I first thank all of you who turned up to give me your support. Also, I would like to thank Steve Sanger, our General Manager who was a great help to me over the last month, getting everything set up on the various systems. Lee and his team for opening up early so we could enjoy a breakfast before play and meals afterwards. 

Thanks to Club Captain Chris for assisting in presentation of the trophies to the Winners of the CJ's Winter Eclectic. Lady Captain, Maxine Palmer for doing the numbers raffle and Senior's Captain John Cousens for taking the photos.

Monies raised over the Winter and Monday's competition was used to refurbish the front of the 10th Tee and also replaced the Outdoor Clock on the Clubhouse. The remaining monies have been split between the 3 Captains charities each receiving £75 each
